To Create a Cloud Collection

Click on the "Connect" tab



Click on "New Source" to create a new data source.



On the menu choose Cloud Collections/Custom.

 

Name your New Collection.


- Name
The name you give to your colleciton

- Data Sources
Choose the type of Collection you are creating, Remote or Local, or both. (This can be changed later by clicking the "Edit Collection" button, while viewing the collection.)


Other settings:


Advanced Settings

- Show Field IDs 
 Setting this to Yes means that all users will be able to see field ID numbers in the records index view.


- Show publication window
Setting this to Yes means that all users will be able to see "publish until" and "publish after" in the records index view.

- Enable pagination
Setting this to Yes allows your app to retrieve data from the collection in batches. This does not apply to local collections.

- Records per page
When pagination is enabled, specifies the number of records to display per batch.

- Publish automatically
Setting this to Yes means that an associated local data source (which you may or may not have chosen to create) will have the Downloadable setting set to Yes. This setting is irrelevant for an associated local data source.
Click "Save" when done.



A default Cloud Collection is created

It contains 3 Text Columns


 

Add or Edit Columns


Now create the columns. You'll see the names of the columns you created when you point to your data source in the EachScape builder from Blocks, Actions etc. To create, edit or delete columns click on "Edit Columns".



- Give your column a name. You can use spaces but they will be converted to an underscore "_".

 - Choose the "Type" of data that will populate the column.


- If you check the "Required" checkbox then the record will not be added unless the cell in the column is filled out.

- Visible to all users let you choose show that column to all users or only to users with that privilege. The User privilege are defined by your EachScape Admin. Depending on your own privilege you might or might not have the ability to change visibility. Setting up a user who can only edit Cloud Collection

Once done click "Save"

 At anytime you can always add, delete (destroy) or edit columns




Click "Done" when we you are finished editing.
